THE SAME SCREAM IS IN HUNDREDS OF MOVIES!

Have you ever heard the WILHELM SCREAM??? I'll answer that for you: More than likely, YES.

The "Wilhelm Scream" is a scream that was recorded for a 1951 movie called "Distant Drums". You hear it when a guy is being dragged underwater by an alligator.

For some reason, sound editors in the movie business just kept using it. . . including two years later, when it would be used for the scream of a character named Private WILHELM when he gets shot in the leg by an arrow in "The Charge At Feather River".

(--That's where it got its name.)

It sort of became a tradition. . . or maybe more of an IN-JOKE. And it's still being used today. In all, it's shown up in 112 movies and TV shows. . . as well as commercials and videogames.

It's been in ALL the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" movies, plus. . .

--"Poltergeist"

--"Batman Returns"

--"Reservoir Dogs"

--"Toy Story"

--"Madagascar"

--"The Green Berets"

--. . . and TIM BURTON'S "Planet of the Apes" remake. . . just to name a few.

Nobody knows for sure who actually recorded the Wilhelm Scream. . . but film historians think it was probably SHEB WOOLEY. . . a voice artist who went on to record the most annoying Halloween song ever, "The Flying Purple People Eater".

Check out this video of the screams:
