A GUY IN CALIFORNIA HAS A SARAH PALIN DUMMY IN HIS HALLOWEEN DISPLAY . . . HANGING FROM A TREE IN A NOOSE?

There are only a few days separating Halloween and the presidential election . . . so it makes sense that some people would choose to give their Halloween decorations a political theme. But is it taking it too far to decorate your house for Halloween . . . by hanging a candidate in effigy?

I ask because there's a guy in Los Angeles named Chad Michael Morisette who's decorated his house for Halloween . . . by hanging a mannequin dressed like SARAH PALIN from a noose.

And on top of Chad's house, there's another mannequin, which resembles JOHN MCCAIN . . . emerging from a flaming chimney.

Anyway, Chad says he knows some people will be offended by his decorations, but he thinks the effigy should be, quote, "seen as art . . . It's Halloween, it's time to be scary it's time to be spooky".

THE SARAH PALIN CORN FIELD

Have you noticed that over the past few weeks, a select group of Americans have lost their ever-loving minds over SARAH PALIN?

Well, one of these yahoos is a farmer named Duke Wheeler from Whitehouse, Ohio .

It seems Duke was so excited when Palin joined the McCain ticket that he hired an artist to mow a portrait of Palin . . . into his 16-acre cornfield.

ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME NOMINEES

The 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees were announced on September 22nd. For the third consecutive year, only nine nominees were named, and of those, five will be inducted.

COME ON! CHIC? RUN D-M-C? THESE AREN'T ROCK AND ROLL! How can they consider acts like Chic and Run Dmc when Steve Miller, Alice Cooper and Jimmy Page are NOT in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If they aren't going to be true to their Rock and Roll name...than change it to the Music Hall of Fame.

Check out who else is eligible, but not in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame: http://www.futurerockhall.com/eligibles.php

THE DUMP OF THE MONTH CLUB STRIKES AGAIN!

You've heard me talk about "The Dump of the Month Club" that I am a part of with my neighbors...right? If not, basically every month a group of friends in my neighborhood get together to eat at "dump" restaurants and bars around the city. For some reason...I still don't know why...they let me tag along with them. Every month the "dump" is a surprise location that is picked by one of the couples.

This month was a good one! IT was our first trip across the river to C.B. for a "dump" location. We went to The Railway Inn...good food...good drinks...football on the TVs...and I ate a Railway Burger about the size of my head! Oh...and to all the restaurant owners and operators...we mean no offense to your establishment by picking it as a "dump" location...it just means that you have good food and a certain atmosphere that we are looking for.

Here's a picture of the motley crew that attended this month's "dump". By the way, my wife and I are picking the dump for next month....any suggestions?

ONLY *ONE* HOUSE SURVIVED HURRICANE IKE IN THIS GALVESTON NEIGHBORHOOD

You have to see this picture. It's so messed up that it looks fake . . . but it's not. It's a neighborhood in Galveston, Texas, where Hurricane Ike hit hardest last week. It shows a lone house with nothing around it but utter devastation.

--The house belongs to Pam and Warren Adams, who built it in February 2006 after their first home was destroyed by Hurricane Rita. They asked the contractor to build a house that could withstand a Category 5 hurricane. Looks like they got their money's worth.

NEVER HAVE YOUR LUNCH STOLEN FROM YOUR WORK REFRIGERATOR AGAIN!

Has your lunch ever been stolen out of the refrigerator at work? If so, you should pick up an Anti-Theft Lunch Bag to make sure it never happens again.

Basically, the Anti-Theft Lunch Bag is a plastic bag that has green splotches printed on both sides . . . so it looks like your sandwich is moldy and disgusting

OK, so the Anti-Theft Lunch Bag hasn't actually hit the market yet . . . but if you email the inventor, Sherwood Forlee, at skforlee@gmail.com, he'll let you know when it does.

THE TEENAGER JARGON BUSTER

Sometimes it may seem as though you need a translator to understand what your teenager is talking about. With a new slang word seemingly invented every week; many parents find it difficult to keep up with the latest phrases and sayings. This is why we’ve come up with a teen-speak jargon buster. Put together by teenagers and parents, this dictionary of 'teenglish' (complete with definitions) should help break down the language barrier.

So what sort of slang is decoded on Got-A-Teenager?

"Flossing": to show off. (--As in, "Look at that guy flossing in his new car.")

"Beef": to have a problem. (--As in, "I have beef with him, so we're going to fight.")

"Sick": good. (--As in, "Your new shoes are sick.")

"'Rents": parents. (--As in, "My 'rents grounded me.")

Former 'Raspberries' lead singer Eric Carmen arrested again for drunk driving

Here's the link to the dashcam video: http://www.tmz.com/tmz_main_video?titleid=1785267255

Here's the story from Cleveland's WKYC-TV...

Police Sgt. Jason Marvin said Eric H. Carmen of Gates Mills, was involved in a one-car accident just after 7 p.m. Tuesday night on Chagrin Boulevard.
An officer on the scene said he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
WKYC broke the story on Tuesday night.
Carmen, 59, was taken to Bedford Heights Jail and given a blood alcohol test, where the test showed a blood alcohol level of .234, almost three times the legal limit of .08.
Carmen was then arrested and charged with failure to control his vehicle and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Carmen was driving his 2008 black Range Rover eastbound on Chagrin Boulevard just after 7 p.m. Tuesday when he ran off the south side of the road in front of the Beechmont Country Club, running over a fire hydrant in front of the club.
Carmen was alone in the Range Rover at the time of the accident.
The Range Rover continued on, eventually coming to a rest about 100 feet down the road. Oil was leaking from underneath the car and it was towed from the scene by Interstate Towing.
The Orange Village Fire Department arrived on the scene and cleaned up the oil spill. Parts of Carmen's Range Rover were scattered around the area of the broken fire hydrant.
The Cleveland Water Department was notified that a fire hydrant had been sheared off and was lying on the ground but was not leaking.
Carmen was released on a personal recognizance bond of $500 at the jail.
Carmen was arrested by Gates Mills police in March, 2007, for OVI after driving his Lexus SUV off SOM Center Road there, hitting a mailbox and a sign, then ending up in someone's front yard.
At his court appearance in 2007, Carmen, the former lead singer of The Raspberries, pleaded no contest to those charges.
The judge fined him $750 and sentenced him to 30 days in jail, with all but three of those days suspended.
The Raspberries started in Cleveland in 1972 with the Top 5 hit "Go All the Way."
Three other Top 40 singles followed. After the group's fourth and final album, "Starting Over," came out in 1974, Carmen launched a successful solo career.
He released his first solo album, which included the hit, "All By Myself," in 1975.© 2008 WKYC-TV

NEW MELLENCAMP!

John Mellencamp is no stranger to the music of Bob Dylan. He has performed a number of his songs -- "Like a Rolling Stone," "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat," "All Along the Watchtower" and "Highway 61 Revisited." He even directed the video for Dylan's 1989 song "Political World." Now, with a nod to the presidential election, Mellencamp has made a video of himself doing an acoustic version of Dylan's 1964 song "The Times They Are a-Changin'," which he has posted on his website.

HENDRIX GUITAR GOES FOR BIG BUCKS!

A 1965 Fender Stratocaster that JIMI HENDRIX set on fire back in 1967 . . . has been sold, at an auction, for $497,500. That seems like a lot for a charred guitar, but it was projected to go for at least $900,000.

This was NOT the guitar that Jimi infamously burned ON FILM at the Monterey Pop festival in 1967 . . . this one was torched at a concert in London earlier that year.

STONES FAN!!!

Even in death....Rolling Stones rule!

: A BURGLAR TRIED TO BREAK INTO A HOUSE . . . BUT GOT STUCK, HANGING UPSIDE DOWN IN THE WINDOW FRAME

I LOVE dumb criminals.

Recently, 32-year-old John Pearce of Dartford, England, made the bonehead decision that he was going to try and break into a house and rob it . . . in the middle of the day.

So John smashed out a front window and started to climb inside the house. But somehow, John managed to get his foot caught in the window frame . . . and he was left hanging UPSIDE DOWN in the window for over an hour.

A crowd of neighbors gathered around to make fun of John for being an idiot . . . and eventually, the police showed up and arrested him.

John's been charged with burglary with the relatively weak sounding charge of intent to steal.

CHINA'S CHEATING WAYS!

At the beginning of the Olympics, there was all kinds of talk about how at least one member of China's women's gymnastics team . . . a girl named HE KEXIN . . . wasn't old enough to compete in the Olympics.

Now, a computer security expert named Mike Walker says he found two spreadsheets in the cache of a Chinese search engine called Baidu . . . which list He's age as only 14.

In light of that evidence and other, quote, "discrepancies", the International Olympic Committee announced yesterday that they've now ordered an investigation to determine, once and for all, how old He actually is.

So you know, the U.S. stands to gain the most if He is disqualified for being too young. American gymnast NASTIA LIUKIN . . . who came in second to He in the uneven bars . . . would become the new gold medalist.

And if He is found to be too young to compete, China's team gold medal would be taken away . . . and awarded to the Americans who came in second.
HERE IS SOME OF THE EVIDENCE!

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED MICHAEL PHELPS COVER

If you've paid even the slightest amount of attention to the Beijing Olympics, you're probably well aware that MICHAEL PHELPS broke MARK SPITZ'S record for winning the most gold medals at a single Olympics.

Anyway, there's a famous picture of Spitz wearing all his gold medals . . . and the people over at "Sports Illustrated" thought it would be cool to have Phelps strike the same pose on the cover of their latest issue.

Thanks to the Internet, it's not hard to get a celebrity's autograph these days. That's why it's time to move to the next level: The "LIVE autograph".

As usual, WILLIAM SHATNER is leading the charge to that next level. He's a partner in a new site called LiveAutographs.com . . . where you not only get a celebrity to autograph a picture or a piece of memorabilia for you . . .

You also get a VIDEO of the celebrity autographing that piece of memorabilia . . . AND delivering a personalized message of YOUR choosing while he or she is signing it.

There aren't a lot of celebrities cooperating with the site yet, but there are some decent names . . . including Shatner, Danica Patrick, Hulk Hogan, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Carmen Electra, Raven-Symone and several cast members from "Lost".

Most of the other items are between $100 and $200 . . . but the most expensive are a TED NUGENT guitar, which will set you Republican rockers back $3,750 . . . and a NASA flight jacket autographed by astronaut BUZZ ALDRIN. That's $599.

I took my son Riley to the 2008 Defenders of Freedom Airshow at Offutt this weekend. I love anything to do with our military and this years event was AMAZING! What a great way to wrap up Air Force Week. We saw the old warbirds like the B-17 (my favorite), the B-25, the Japanese Zero, P51 and many others. The crowning moment is always when the Air Force Thunderbirds take to the sky. Here a very short video from the show.

Thanks to all the brave men and woman in our military who fight for our freedom everyday.

Cheetos Jesus!

A High Ridge, Missouri woman says she has found Jesus in a bag of Cheetos. Kelly Ramey says, "I think I found Jesus on a Cheeto as funny as that sounds."

She bought a bag of Cheetos at a West County convenience store. Inside the bag she felt something unusual.

"I looked at that and I though oh my that looks like Jesus on the cross it was just like wow," she says.

Family and friends agree with her. Her daughter says, "I thought it was pretty cool." But Kelly Ramey's friend, Sue Edelman, sees something different, "I looked again and I thought a horse head."

Kelly says her husband has a special name for it. "He calls him cheesus."

The pastor of Kirkwood United Methodist Church does not see anything theologically special about the Cheeto but thinks some good could come from it. Pastor David Bennett says "If people can find Jesus, somehow, in each of us like she's found in this object, that would be a wonderful thing."

Kelly doesn't plan to sell the Cheeto and will keep it in a safe deposit box.

Mr. T Snickers TV Commercial

MR. T is in trouble for shooting Snicker bars out of a gun at a gay, British speed-walker. Yeah, you're probably going to need me to explain this a little better.

Mr. T was doing a British TV commercial for Snickers. And it's a commercial that had to be YANKED after gay rights groups complained.

The ad features Mr. T manning a machine gun mounted to the back of a pickup truck, firing Snicker bars at an effeminate-looking speed-walker, while telling him, quote, "It's time to run like a REAL MAN."

While the speed-walker is never identified as gay, advocacy groups said they felt he was purposely exhibiting stereotypically gay behavior . . . and, of course, being made fun of for it. So the company pulled the ad. No word yet from Mr. T.

Here's the other ad in the series.

A GUY TOOK OUT AN AD IN THE NEWSPAPER TO ANNOUNCE HIS WEDDING WAS OFF

What's the WORST thing you did to get back at an ex after a breakup?

Well on July 9th, a guy named Paul Dunkel from Mount Juliet, Tennessee, took out an ad in the newspaper to announce his wedding to a woman named Tammy Lapoint was OFF.

In the ad, Paul (--who refers to himself as "Pauly Bear", and to Tammy as "Snoogums") wrote, quote, "I am so happy to inform you that the engagement is off. Please return all gifts and inform others as well.

"Everyone was right. What I thought was a dream in reality was a nightmare. I am so sorry, family and friends, to waste your time. At least I found out before I said 'I do'."

In response, Tammy's now filed harassment charges and a civil lawsuit against Paul and the "Chronicle of Mount Juliet" . . . which is the newspaper that ran the ad.
And in a bizarre turn of events, Tammy now says she and Paul were NEVER engaged . . . and she's afraid he's crazy for thinking they were. This could get ugly.

THE BRITISH ARMY IS TRAINING DOGS TO PARACHUTE OUT OF PLANES

Usually, it takes a whole lot to get me excited about something . . . but THIS is pretty sweet.

Recently, officials in the British military announced they've started training German Shepherds to parachute out of airplanes at 25,000 feet . . . in order to do reconnaissance work for special forces assault teams.

According to the British military, the dogs will be strapped to parachuting soldiers, wearing their own oxygen masks, and outfitted with tiny cameras on their heads, which beam live feeds back to troops.

So what's the point of this?

Well, according to military officials, dogs have FOUR advantages over humans in a war zone.

#1.) Dogs arouse less suspicion from the enemy.

#2.) They can squeeze into spaces that are too tight for humans.

#3.) They can sniff out hidden explosives.

#4.) And they aren't human. If a dog dies, it's less of a loss than if a human soldier is killed (sorry, but it's true).

ANDY DICK HAS BEEN ARRESTED - NICE MUGSHOT!

Andy Dick or The Joker...you make the call!

Just when you think ANDY DICK had fallen as far as he could, he goes and does something like this:

Andy was arrested early yesterday morning at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Murietta, California . . . after he allegedly pulled down the tank top and bra of a 17-year-old girl, exposing her breasts.

Police arrived at the restaurant at around 1:00 A.M., after receiving a complaint about a man urinating outside.

When they got there, witnesses told them that Andy . . . who's 42 . . . had approached the victim and her friend, before groping the victim and pulling her top down.

By the time police arrived, Andy's friends were trying to take him away in a truck . . . but the cops stopped them. It should not surprise you that police say Andy was, quote, "extremely intoxicated."

Oh . . . and Andy also had marijuana in his pockets . . . plus a Xanax pill he didn't have a prescription for.

Andy was booked on felony charges of sexual battery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and public intoxication. He was released later that morning on $5,000 bail.

I WON THE 4TH OF JULY NEIGHBORHOOD GRILL THROWDOWN!

It was a great 4th of July weekend for me! I went to a great neighborhood party with a great group of friends, drank a little, ate a LOT, shot off some fireworks and WON THE NEIGHBORHOOD GRILL THROW DOWN. Thanks to the Bowens for a GREAT party.

Steve "The Grand Champion" King with the judges...The Woods Family.

Here's the winning dish...Surf and Turf Kabobs.

WANNA MAKE IT? HERE'S THE SECRET RECIPE.

16 Large sea scallops
1/2 lb. top round steak, cut into 16 ( 1-1/4" ) cubes
16 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
16 large button mushrooms
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup dark corn syrup ( such as Karo® Syrup)
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 T. prepared yellow mustard
3 T. minced garlic
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. pepper
8 ripe, but firm, cherry tomatoes
Preparation - Place the steak cubes, shrimp, scallops and mushrooms in a gallon size zip top bag. In a bowl, whisk the soy sauce, corn syrup, lemon juice, vegetable oil, mustard, minced garlic, ginger and pepper together. Pour half of the mixture in the bag. (Reserve the remaining half for basting.) Seal the bag, place it in the refrigerator, and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and discard the used marinade. On each of 8 long skewers, thread 1 steak cube, 1 mushroom, 1 shrimp, and 1 scallop; repeat. Place the kabobs on a grill, 6" above hot coals. Grill for about 10 minutes, or to desired doneness, turning and basting frequently. When the kabobs are nearly done, during about the last 2 minutes of grill time, place 1 cherry tomato on each skewer.
