There's a "new" Beatles song making its way around the bootleg circuit. It's an 11-minute version of "Revolution," reportedly recorded on June 4th, 1968, that starts with John Lennon saying, "Take your knickers off and let's go" and ends with Yoko Ono speaking. In between are a multitude of sound effects laid over the recording. Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn wrote in The Complete Beatles Recording Session that a lot of experimentation and improvisation went into "Revolution" before it was edited down to the version on the White Album. The Beatles' company, Apple Corps, had no statement. The song has been removed from YouTube following a copyright claim by E-M-I, but a snippet of it was on back on the site last night.
