Cars keyboardist Greg Hawkes has released an album of Beatles covers performed on ukulele called The Beatles Uke. Hawkes, who saw the Beatles in 1964 in Baltimore, tells the Boston Herald, "The ukulele is often remembered, and still regarded, as a jokey instrument at the top of the list. But I enjoyed Tiny Tim. He was very knowledgeable about the Tin Pan Alley composers and history of the songs." He is doing a few solo shows in support of the album in the Boston area. He is also part of Flo and Eddie's touring band. You can check out his website at www.greghawkesmusic.com
