THE DELOREAN IS BACK!

Today's a HUGE day for those of us who REALLY miss the '80s. . . the DeLorean is officially BACK!!!

Stephen Wynne of Humble, Texas, who has been the country's biggest DeLorean repairman for the past 12 years, is about to start building brand-new DeLoreans. . . and selling them for $57,500. Only about 9,000 DeLoreans were made between 1981 and 1983, and 6,500 of them are still on the road today. They sold for $25,000.

The DeLorean Motor Company went bankrupt in 1982, when JOHN DELOREAN was arrested for drug trafficking. The DeLorean got famous as the time machine in "Back to the Future". . . and, according to Wynne the almost nonstop showings of the three "Back to the Future" movies on cable is really what's driving the demand for DeLoreans today.
Wynne says he has enough parts to build about two new DeLoreans a month, every month. And, he says, he got John DeLorean's blessing to start manufacturing the cars again, before DeLorean died in 2005.

The new DeLoreans will go on sale sometime next year.
A really rich friend of mine in High School had one that he drove to school every day. It was a very cool car, but it's as slow as a Chevette with a bad tune-up....still a cool LOOKING car though.
