Does Your Name Predict Happiness or Success?

This is from AOL...so take it with a grain of salt!

You might be well versed in the meaning of your name, but do you know how your name is viewed by others? David Holmes, a psychologist in the UK, believes that the happiest (and unhappiest) people tend to have certain names. Why? Positive or negative associations we make with names -- such as a chipper TV character named Pam or seemingly unhappy actor called Owen -- rub off on people with those names. Furthermore, he claims that people tend to change their personalities to match the perceptions of their names.

Another British psychologist, Richard Wiseman, unveiled findings from an experiment in which 7,000 people were given a list of common male and female names and asked which they considered to be lucky, attractive and successful. Names like James and Elizabeth rated high for success while Lisa and Brian did not. Experts believe that names hold historical significance: Elizabeth, a royal name, may connote a sense of power, while another name may be associated with defeat or disaster.

The jury is still out on whether having a name that rates high on the success scale will give you an advantage professionally, but it's something to consider when giving a child a more unusual name, like those celebrities often choose. Keep in mind, however, that these name rankings might have an obvious British bias to them.

Here's a look at how names in the survey stacked up in order:

Most Successful: James, Elizabeth, Caroline, Richard, Michael, Helen, Olivia, William, Andrew and Amanda

Least Successful: Brian, Lisa, Ryan, Lucy, Stephen, Katie, Emily, Lewis, Julie and Ian

Most Lucky: Jack, Lucy, Katie, Christ, Lisa, Sophie, Ryan, Peter, James, Emma

Least Lucky: Helen, Elizabeth, John, Ann, Thomas, Caroline, Karen, Jane, Richard, William

Most Attractive: Sophie, Ryan, James, Rachel, Olivia, Karen, Katie, Jack, Sarah, Chris

Least Attractive: Ann, Jane, George, Thomas, Peter, Helen, John, Elizabeth, Richard, Caroline

PICTURES OF GEORGE CLOONEY IN THE OLD MARKET!

Workforce member Lori Tworek was in the Old Market stalking...er...I mean looking for George Clooney while he was filming his new movie, "Up In The Air". Not only did she see him, but she snapped a few pictures. THANKS LORI!

Left side of the window you can see Clooney drinking coffee.

In this picture George Clooney is getting into the black car at 10th and Howard.

This one's hard to make out, but that's Clooney on the left side of the window.

I TAKE MY JEEP OFFROAD FOR THE FIRST TIME!

This past weekend I went "wheelin" with the Jeep club I joined a couple of months ago. What a GREAT time! Just Jeeps of Omaha is a club for the entire Jeep family. I met up with a group of about 8 or 9 member with their Jeeps that were anywhere from highly modified trail machines to bone stock Jeeps that looked like they were right off the car lot.

I couldn't believe what these Jeeps would do! We went up creek beds, rock trails, ledges, cliffs, mud holes and thick forest trails. It was more fun than I ever expected. There were several times when my heart REALLY got pumpin' (like the first part of the video) but everything was safe and controlled. The experienced Just Jeeps of Omaha members really looked out for everyone and made sure we were all safe and having a good time. Plus, on top of it all I've made some good friends! Thanks to Jim, Heather, Mike, Derek, Toby and anyone else that gave me friendly advice to get me though the trails. Oh....and Travis next time try not to get 67% stuck in the mud ;-) www.justjeepsofomaha.net

GATORAIDE REPLAY

The football rivalry between the Red Rovers of Easton Area High School in Easton, Pennsylvania, and the Stateliners of Phillipsburg High School in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, is one of the oldest in the nation . . . dating back to 1905.

(--In case you're wondering, Easton is on Pennsylvania's eastern border . . . and Phillipsburg is on New Jersey's western border. The only thing separating the two towns is the Delaware River. Overall, Easton leads the series 57-40-5.)

But now, players from both schools are preparing to REPLAY a game that ended in a TIE . . . back in 1993. (???)

That's right. 1993. So WHY are they doing it?

Well, the official reason is because Gatorade approached the two schools . . . and asked them to be part of a documentary showcasing their football rivalry.

But let's be honest . . . the real reason they're replaying the game is probably so a bunch of 30-something duffers can relive their past glory one last time.

The game is scheduled to take place on April 26th at Lafayette College in Easton.

Got Any Clapton Video or Pictures?

Three years after it was first announced, Eric Clapton's Visual Anthology is still a work in progress. The producers have asked fans for rare photographs, video and film of Clapton prior to 1980 both on and off stage, and they have now placed an ad in his 2009 tour program. They are specifically looking for 8- and 16-millimeter home movies, video and photographs of Clapton from his days with The Yardbirds, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends and Derek & The Dominos, as well as from his solo career between 1970 and 1980, but particularly in the early 1970s. If you have any visual media in the above categories, contact the producers directly by E-mail at EC_Anthology@Yahoo.com or send a letter with your complete contact information to EC Anthology, care of W Management, 266 Elizabeth Street -- Suite 1A, New York, New York 1-0-0-1-2.

KISS WILL LET THE FANS PICK WHERE THEY PLAY ON THEIR NEXT TOUR

KISS are planning on touring North America this fall . . . and they're going to let US determine where they play.

They're calling it the, quote, "first-ever fan-routed tour" . . . and they're asking their fans to go to their website and vote for where they want them to play.

Naturally, the locations with the most votes will earn spots on the tour. But it isn't just the final tally . . . they're making it possible for smaller cities to compete with large metropolitan areas by taking population size into consideration, along with the number of votes.

Technically, this is open to everyone. Even people who HATE KISS could take part . . . by voting, en masse, for the venues FURTHEST AWAY from their city.

If you DO vote, you will later have the opportunity to purchase pre-sale tickets . . . once the shows are actually announced.

To vote for your city . . . or to monitor which cities are picking up the most love . . . hit up this link . . . http://www.eventful.com/KISS
