We took a LONG drive out to see the Sand Hill Cranes....what a disappointment. We drove all over and only saw a few in the fields. We couldn't get close enough to see them...they basically looked like little grey dots in a field. We took an article from the World Herald that supposedly "told us everything" but it sent us on the wrong road to see them AND forgot to mention you can only see a bunch of them at sunrise and sunset!!!
We found out later that you have to go to the river at sunset or sunrise to see the huge flock of them. WHO KNOW!?! Nobody told us that!
We did see the Kearney Arch. Great museum about the early settlers moving west. It's really cool.
This was as close as I got to a Sand Hill Crane.

....and I also worked on my 1967 Impala....the project that never ends!
