CLASSIC PHOTO!!

We've got a photo for you today out of Fort Worth, Texas, that SHOULD simultaneously make you laugh, because it's AWESOME and cry for our country and the children who are our future.

At Trimble Tech High School in Fort Worth, a group of seniors were banned from graduation, because they failed the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test, which makes sure students have basic English and math skills before they graduate.

Some of the students who were banned, and some their parents, staged a protest outside of graduation. And the photo we've got is of a woman who, sadly, makes it very clear why her child DIDN'T pass the TAKS test.
She's holding up a sign that reads, "Let ARE kids walk." That's "are" spelled A-R-E, not O-U-R.

LOST SEASON FINALE TONIGHT!

The LOST season finale is tonight on ABC. In an interview Michael Emerson, who plays Ben. says that several people will die in the episode. Some of the deaths will be big stars....and there is a BIG twist at the end of the episode.

Boy I hope he's right. The show has been a little lame this year. To get me back next year it's going to take more than a cliffhanger about a new hatch or what food Hurley is stealing now.

THE OFFICE/CALL OF DUTY

As you guys might know I am a big video game geek. I play all the WWII shooter games and the current military video games like BF 2142. Workforce member Tim sent in this video game clip from The Office.

MUSIC PLAYED ON A CAR!

Car Music - Watch more free videos

This guy created this video using just sounds from his car. It's pretty cool....too bad he used a Hyundai! Why not try that with a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T? Now that would be cool!

PHIL SPECTOR'S CRAZY VIDEO

Here's the video Mary Nelson was talking about in the news.

Phil Spector, now on trial for murder, asserted in a 2005 home video interview the statuesque Lana Clarkson was standing when a gun was fired in her mouth and he is too short to have done it.
The video, broadcast Wednesday by the TV program "Inside Edition," also showed Spector offering US$100,000 to unnamed women to take a lie-detector test to prove their claims Spector threatened them with guns.

Watch the video here by clicking on Phil Spector's wild hair!

CAVEMEN WILL BE THE WORST SHOW THIS FALL!

Mary and I talked about this yesterday and have made our predictions I say CAVEMEN will be horrible and won't make it 4 episodes. Mary is much more the optimist and thinks it will make it an entire season.

Here's the ABC promo for the show.....if this is the best they have, boy are they in trouble!

MORE PICTURES FROM MARY NELSON'S WEDDIN'

Workforce members keep asking for pictures from Mary's Kentucky Weddin'....so until she gets all the pictures from the photographer here are a few to check out.

Someone is excited the big day is finally here!

Troy and Mary...the happy couple.

...and they lived happily ever after.

BUD BUSTED WITH BUD!

It's his biggest "hit" in years! DAVID FAUSTINO who played BUD Bundy on "Married. . . With Children" was arrested in Smyrna Beach, Florida on Saturday for SMOKING "bud".

He was charged with disorderly intoxication and possession of less than 20 grams. Nice mugshot...nothing compared with Nick Nolte though!

....or Rip Torn!

I JUST LOVE CELEBRITY MUGSHOTS!

MARY NELSON'S WEDDING PICTURES

Until we can get pictures from the actual ceremony here are a few pictures from Mary and Troy's wedding weekend in Kentucky.

Mary and Troy signing the Marriage Certificate...yes they really do ask if you're related in Kentucky!
Mary's new brother-in-law, Tod, wearing an old pair of borrowed overalls... and loving it! He's either giving a thumbs up to the outfit, or the cabin where Mary and Troy were married - we're not sure.
Mary and Troy with a family friend. And no - that's not her wedding dress... though it was widely speculated at the reception that she changed into her lingerie early.
Mary insists... It was a real dress! Of course it was.

EVER WONDER ABOUT THAT 9/10 OF A CENT IN GAS PRICES?

You know how gas is always $3.09 and 9/10ths instead of just $3.09? It turns out that fraction of a penny is worth BILLIONS to the gas companies.

Here's the math, based on numbers from February. Gas stations sold about 373 million barrels of gas (372,833,500 barrels to be exact). Each barrel is 42 gallons. So, with each gallon pulling in an extra nine-tenths of a cent, that means, in February, those penny fractions added up to $140.9 MILLION.

Assuming that February's numbers can be used as a rough average for the year, that means the nine-tenths of a cent leads to $1.7 BILLION in extra revenue.

Normally I'm not a big baseball fan, but I love this story about Vernon Wells of the Toronto Blue Jays. Wells was being heckled by a group of Cleveland Indian fans and they kept yelling at him to throw them a ball. So Vernon did....with a very special message on it.

Wells wrote this on the ball:

"Dear Mr. Dork: Here’s your ball. Can you please tell me what gas station you work at so when you are pumping my gas I can come yell at you!!! Sit down, shut up and enjoy the game. Your favorite center fielder."

That's perfect! It actually turned the hecklers into fans and shut them up for the rest of the game.

GREAT CAR RESTORATION STORY

As you guys know I love classic cars and great stories about classic cars, their owners and cool restorations. Here's an awesome story about a '46 Hudson, a lost wallet and a grateful owner 55 years later.

Fifty-five years ago, in 1952, 20-year-old Glenn Goodlove was home in Washington on leave from the U.S. Navy. He had a date with a girl, and borrowed his grandfather's 1946 Hudson to take her out.

Anyway, the date was hot and Glenn ended up GETTING-IT-ON with the young lady in the backseat of the Hudson. In the process, though, his wallet must have slipped out of his pants pocket and gotten stuck in the backseat cushions.

Fast forward to this year. 61-year-old Jon Beck and 72-year-old Chuck Merrill, both of Twin Falls, Idaho, were looking for a classic car to restore. Someone sold them that same 1946 Hudson, which had been out of Glenn's family for decades.

While Jon and Chuck were restoring the car, they reached between the backseat cushions. . . and found Glenn's wallet. It had a $10 bill, a $1 silver certificate, Glenn's military ID, his Social Security card. . . and his HANDWRITTEN driver's license.

Jon and Chuck were able to track down Glenn. . . who's now 75 and lives in San Diego. They called him up. . . talked with him for a while. . . and now, they're sending him back his wallet.

That is soooo cool! The best thing I ever found while working on a car...WAS A CAR. I found a very old Matchbox Car behind the rear interior panel in '66 Mustang we gave away last year. I also found an orange "GO BOHEMIAN" button behind the rear seat in my '66 Cutlass.

EBAY GENERAL LEE UPDATE!

JOHN SCHNEIDER, who played Bo Duke on the TV series "The Dukes of Hazzard", has sold his General Lee...for nearly $10 MILLION.

The car was sold on eBay. And if the buyer does indeed fork over their winning bid of $9,900,500, it will become the most expensive item sold on eBay, EVER.

While John's car isn't the OFFICIAL General Lee from the TV series, it WAS used on the show at one point. It also includes the signatures of "Dukes of Hazzard" cast members.

UNL BOMB THREAT SUSPECT

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's police department says they have a person of interest in a bomb threat from last month. Police believe he made a threatening phone call from a convenience store in Omaha. While Lincoln police won't identify the store, Action 3 News did some investigating and talked with store managers who confirm their involvement in the investigation. We've agreed not to publish the name of the store as to not hurt the police process. They are hoping someone will recognize him from surveillance tape. If you recognize the man you are asked to call Lancaster County Crimestoppers at (402) 475-3600. A caller with valid information could be eligible for an reward.

THE HOFF IS STONE COLD DRUNK!

It looks like David Hasseshoff has fallen off the wagon again! This time his 16-year-old daughter taped him drunk. The Hoff says he told his family that if he every got drunk again to make a video of him so he could see how bad it was. Of course he didn't want it broadcast to the world. Hasselhoff claims his ex-wife must have released the video.

AIR NATIONAL GUARD MAJOR JOHN KLATT TAKES STEVE ON A THRILL RIDE!

This video doesn't do the ride I took with Major John Klatt justice. It was intense! The loops and snap rolls were amazing. The G's you felt during the ride were out of this world. Many thanks to John Klatt, his crew and The Air National Guard for letting me have this stomach turning experience! Find out more about the Air National Guard HERE!

STEVE KING STUNT AIRCRAFT FLYER?!?

Stunt pilot John Klatt, who will perform at the Defenders of Freedom air show this weekend, has invited me to go on a death defying thrill ride today! Should be fun....as long as I don't blow chunks. I'll tell you what happened during this once in a lifetime experience tomorrow on CD 105.9.
